PCB Coating

PCB Coating

Coating ensures automotive safety through electronic components.

With the development of automobiles, they are gradually becoming more electronic. This electronic integration makes vehicles smarter and more comfortable. PCBs are widely used components in automobiles, and due to the prolonged outdoor usage of vehicles, the long-term reliability of PCBs is of significant importance for safe driving. Coating can achieve moisture resistance, salt spray resistance, dust prevention, and mold resistance, among other benefits, making it an effective means of improving PCB reliability.

Process characteristics

Typical products for automotive PCB coating applications include ECU, power steering, navigation modules, T-box, keys, charging port adapters, PCM, and more.

The coating process for automotive PCBs requires high precision, with strict requirements for edge resolution, speckle, thickness, and bubbles. Therefore, automotive PCB coating is defined as a precision selective spraying application.

Of course, process control is also crucial, including monitoring and automatic adjustment of glue stability, machine air pressure monitoring, glue temperature control, and MES system data tracing.

The electrification of automobiles inevitably leads to more PCBs being introduced, and there is an increasing demand for coating in automotive applications. Furthermore, PCBs are becoming more sophisticated, necessitating higher requirements for selective coating. Axxon has already introduced 2mm line width spray valves and 1mm line width jet valves for precision-level coating applications. In the future, Axxon will continue to seek technological breakthroughs in coating precision and process control to better serve automotive PCB coating needs.
