RTV Component Reinforcement

RTV effectively suppresses the movement of plug-in components.

Transportation, installation, and operation all produce varying degrees of vibration. When there are plug-in components on the PCB, vibrations can potentially cause these components to sway, leading to pin breakage. To avoid this issue, manufacturers have introduced RTV adhesive dispensing technology. By dispensing adhesive on the bottom or side of the component, it effectively reinforces the connection between the component and the PCB, suppressing component movement and preventing pin breakage."


Process Characteristics

The RTV component reinforcement process finds extensive applications in industries such as automotive electronics, household appliances, power tools, power modules, security intelligence, and communication equipment.

RTV silicone adhesive is a single-component room temperature vulcanizing silicone rubber that is solvent-free and non-corrosive. It has a milky-white appearance and a viscosity ranging from tens of thousands to several hundred thousand cps. Composed of silicone rubber, crosslinking agent, and filler, it offers long storage periods and stable performance, serving as an adhesive, sealant, insulator, moisture barrier, and shock-absorbing material.

In the RTV component reinforcement dispensing process, inclined dispensing applications are common due to the dispensing positions being at the bottom or side of the components. Given the diverse types of components, multiple angles and sides of dispensing are often required. Axxon has introduced a five-axis inclined dispensing RTV dispensing system to address this, enabling dispensing at various angles. It can be complemented with weight-based adhesive dispensing systems, flow monitoring systems, laser height detection systems, and various pumping systems.

Since the components are plug-in type and fixed by adhesive dispensing, there may be certain deviations in component positioning. While automated dispensing is feasible when components are not densely arranged, denser component layouts require further flexibility in automated dispensing positions.
